Abstract :
There are many papers available on doubly fed induction generator (DFIG) and their control. However, there are gray areas where a laymen into the wind industry cannot fully understand with regard to the operation of these machines. This paper presents from first principles, the operation and control of the DFIG, and supplement the theory by results obtained through computer simulations.
