Abstract :
We have demonstrated fabrication of high-Q WGM (Whispering Gallery Mode) optical microcavities for the first time in indium fluoride, a relatively new glass of great promise for mid-IR comb generation and sensing applications. Intrinsic quality factors of 3×106 have already been demonstrated.
