Abstract :
Sealing robot is essential to automatic manufacture of insulating glass. This paper presents a newly developed numeric dosing system for bi-component automatic sealing robot of insulating glass. The dosing system consists of two plunger pumps driven by the servo motors, a numeric control system embedded in computer, and some measuring and controlling components. Outputting and inputting sealant process flows of the dosing pumps were proposed. The mixing sealant volume is figured out and controlled by the numeric controller and is intruded into the static mixer by the dosing pumps. A numeric plunger pump dosing system is implemented on an automatic sealing robot. The experimental results indicate that the proposed system realizes the digital, automatic and accurate dosing process in the secondary seal of insulating glass. The automatic sealing robot with the dosing system not only achieves the desired high performance but also improves the productivity effect.
