Abstract :
In this paper, a new pre-fast Fourier transformation (FFT) beamforming approach is proposed for an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) system with an antenna array in wireless local area network (WLAN). Compared with the OFDM system based on traditional beamforming or principle eigen-vector beamforming, it can offer almost the same performance with significant reduction in system structure as well as computational complexity. In addition, it outperforms the system with a switched-beam beamformer. Simulations are conducted to show the effectiveness of the proposed approach
