Abstract :
In order to reduce polarisation dependence of gain (PDG) of Raman amplification, pump depolarization method with polarisation maintaining fibre (PMF) depolarizer is discussed. PMD of the depolarizer should be designed to optimum value determined by pump LD´s longitudinal mode spacing.
