Abstract :
The paper presents a first step towards building a unified methodology for both knowledge engineering and software engineering. The idea is to combine the acquisition and conceptualisation phases of the IDEAL methodology (a knowledge engineering methodology) with an object oriented design and implementation. This methodology has been successfully applied to three projects at CETTICO (Centre of Computing and Communications Technology Transfer). The paper describes the techniques used and the results obtained in developing a unified methodology
