Abstract :
We have developed a proprietary vertically emitting laser diode with integrated photodiode suitable for un-cooled operation. This cost effective package has demonstrated excellent performance at 2.5 Gb/s, 70°C transmission through 25 km of single mode fibre without optical isolation and suitable for metro/MAN Gigabit Ethernet applications.
