Abstract :
The ultra-wideband (UWB) communication system provides high accurate localization due to the high multi-path resolution capacity. This paper applies an improved TDOA method to achieve UWB localization in the mobile environment. The ETDGE algorithm for ranging and the Fang & iterative algorithm for locating the moving node are approached by an optimum manner. Simulation results show the minimum error in time delay estimation (consequently position location) with the algorithms combined. It is also proved that the less error in range estimation occurs when the number of reference nodes increases. So these approaches can be used to improve the ranging and localization accurate capability of low-rate UWB communication systems in the mobile environment
