Abstract
We proposed a 4-b optical TTD feeder for PAAs that is composed of a fixed wavelength laser source, MEMS switches, and single mode fibre (SMF) delay lines. The time-delay differences at the beam steering angles of 60°, 30°, -30°, -60° for a 10 GHz linear PAA were measured to be about 42 ps, 26 ps, 25 ps, 38 ps ±2.5%. We obtained the maximum gain of 11.6 dB for the designed four-element PAA at an RF frequency of 10 GHz.
