Abstract
In this paper, the frequency response and radiation property of a printed monopole with respect to a ceramic dielectric load applied are investigated with the aid of the simulation software package CST Microwave Studiotrade. The variations in resonant frequency and impedance bandwidth (BW) with varying permittivity and dimensions of the ceramic are examined. Furthermore, a dielectrically loaded structure is developed for ultra wide band (UWB) applications, according to the Federal Communication Commission (FCC) specifications. The suitability of the structure for dual-band operation will be demonstrated. The measured radiation patterns will also be presented.
