An overview is given about the development of speech technology based telecommunications services in Hungary during the last ten years. It combines the author´s personal experience with analysis of the answers form a questionnaire, sent out to approximately 80 companies in Hungary. Examples of services developed with the participation of DTT TUB are also reported
