Abstract :
The paper presents an ICT tool to support the physicians in their clinical activity assessing and monitoring the cases which lead to preterm birth. The basic ICT tool is an open source called Labkey Server which has the ability to make statistics, reports and other important charts which can help the clinicians and the researcher to prevent the preterm birth. The data will be gathered from multiple databases from different departments or laboratories and processed to adapt to situations and supply the appropriate solution to assist the clinician. The communication is based on HL7 CDA (Clinical Document Architecture) standard. The process will be applied to support detection of risk problems related to pregnancy which if are not detected in time can lead to preterm birth. The proposed platform will be used in the future to perform algorithms adaptable to specific situations and patients in order to add a smart component that can alert the clinician in case of higher risk pregnancy situations.
