Abstract :
The safety of personnel and equipment requires the proper attention of a grounding system and the equipment used. Different methods and combination of equipment can aid in achieving proper grounding practices. Both the Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) and Mine Safety & Health Administration (MSHA) are very concerned with the grounding of equipment and more recently the arc-flash that can occur under a ground fault condition. This paper addresses current ground systems in use and makes some recommendations for systems and equipment that might better protect the cement plant.
