            Abstract :
The physical volume repository (PVR), a module defined by the IEEE reference model for mass storage systems, is presented. The PVR is that portion of a storage system that stores and mounts physical volumes. A description is given of the architecture of the PVR, its interface and how it processes client requests.<>
