  • Abstract
Summary form only given. India lives in villages. If we want to see India move on and seen as developed economically, socially and technologically then rural India has to be equally modernized. The government at center and states and various NGOs and corporates have tried from time to time to usher is large scale changes in rural India through e-governance. E-governance is being used for effective, efficient and transparent delivery of citizen services to person at the bottom of the social and economic pyramid. The B-governance infrastructure by design requires efficient, 24*7, thrifty communication linkages between the central server and service delivery centers typically known as CSC or common service centers. Hence the communication link is the vital cog in the wheel of B-governance led development model. India is an enormous country spread over few lakh square kilometers of not only plains but treacherous Himalyan mountains, Thar Dessert, Nilgiri Hills, slushy KuchRunn and areas accessible only by foot having no regular electricity supply leading to unique enormous challenge of providing and maintaining sufficient and reliable 24*7 communication link.
