  • Abstract
Multivalued Logic has attracted substantial interest of digital designers due to its potential of enhancing data content per unit area. This paper extensively analyses transient characteristics of CNFET-based ternary inverter and compares the variability of its different design metrics with those of CNFET-based binary inverter and shows that the variability of parameters of ternary inverter are much narrower than those of binary inverter. The proposed CNFET-based ternary inverter proves its robustness by exhibiting narrower spread in delay, average power, power-delay product (PDP) and energy-delay product (EDP) variability by 81.86%, 15.91%, 77.66% and 75% respectively. All the simulations have been performed on SPICE using predictive technology model (PTM) @ 16-nm technology node.
