Abstract :
Important progress has been made in the continuing development of the SEA 10X Concentrator. The authors present these developments which include: the demonstration of cost-effective, cost-optimized solar cells for use at low concentration; lens transmission improvement from 79% to 86%; the construction of a 25 MW/yr capacity automated receiver assembly station; the performance of Sandia Qualification Tests; and protoype array design and construction. The authors also describe how this technology will be demonstrated with a rod mounted 48 array system through a contract with the Sacramento Municipal Utility District
