  • Abstract
    This paper presents a multi-functional antenna system for PCS and FM radio services. The multi-functional antenna is capable of operating with outstanding performance both at FM and PCS bands, which are separated by a factor of more than 10. To realize single-port excitation, the developed antenna system consists of a meander-type monopole antenna loaded with an LNA-integrated helical antenna. The measured gains of the antenna system are -5.6 dBi and 0.9 dBi in FM and PCS bands, respectively. The single-port excitation, compact volume, low profile, and the low-cost fabrication make the demonstrated antenna system an attractive solution as a multi-functional antenna for FM and PCS operation.
