  • Abstract
    Harmonic-state electromagnetic simulations and MATLAB-based signal processing are applied to analyze an eight-element circular monopole antenna array in a planar direction finding system. The application to a calibrated MUSIC algorithm to determine the angle of arrival (AOA) is demonstrated. The effects of incident-wave elevation angle to the AOA estimation in conventional beam steering, MUSIC, or minimum norm algorithms are also characterized.
