Abstract
The problem to design adaptive dual controllers for continuous-time systems is very complex and unsolvable in its original formulation. This problem is not considered in the literature so far. The present paper shows how the dual control problem can be formulated in bicriterial form and solved for continuous-time systems using a simple example. First, a simple example of a discrete-time system is considered and the corresponding adaptive dual controller is derived using the bicriterial synthesis method. Using the analogy between discrete-time and continuous-time controllers, an adaptive dual controller for a continuous-time system is derived
