Abstract :
Multi-band antennas covering 5 bands (GSM850, GSN900, GSM1800, GSM1900 and UMTS), whose frequency ranges are specified, are essential components in mobile phone. They can either enhance or degrade the performance. The main problem with multi-band antennas for mobile phones is the interrelationship between size and performance (efficiency, bandwidth). One of these can be improved at expense of the others.
