Abstract :
A novel method of qSD-CWMA using conventional single view multiframe electrocardiographic R-wave gated radionuclide ventriculography (MUGA) is developed. It is based on orthogonal kinematic analysis of isodensity count-rate contours of left ventricular radioactive blood pool. Systolic translation of a contour has a central zone of kinematic uncertainty (ZKU) in (x,φ)-viewing plane, and a peripheral-ZKU in quasi-z-direction. The smaller the systolic excursion, as in left ventricular dysfunction, the narrower would be zones of kinematic uncertainties for detection of wall motion abnormalities (WMAb) Preliminary clinical studies using closed-loop cinematic q3D-CWMA has shown enhanced efficiency of MUGA for detection of WMAb as compared to conventional 2-D-CWMA or projection matched echocardiography (ECHO)
