Abstract :
APD-type photo sensors are widely used in several applications when a low level of light must be measured such as in phosphorescence and fluorescence measurements. In such applications, Avalanche Photo Diodes (APDs) must work in the avalanche region in order to achieve high light-current gain. But the curve is extremely sensitive and, so the gain changes with temperature. In this paper, a new system to improve its temperature behavior is presented. This system consists of a high frequency switching converter with the temperature as output variable.
