Abstract :
The first challenging step of the demodulation of DVB-S2 signal is frame synchronization. To the best of our knowledge, the existing synchronization methods are all focus on the physical layer header. In this paper, we propose a first-ever frame synchronization method based on the scrambling sequence. Because the scrambling sequence is much longer than physical layer header, the proposed method can have a better performance. Firstly, we present the frame structure of DVB-S2 and the base-band scrambling process. Secondly, we analyse the statistical bias of physical layer frame. Finally, the scrambling sequence based synchronization method is proposed. This method doesn´t need the physical layer header and has a good synchronization performance under low SNR.
