Abstract :
In this paper, we propose an improved channel estimation approach based on time-domain correlation in multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) system. Since orthogonal pseudonoise (PN) sequences are not available, the result of channel estimation contains inter-symbol and co-channel interference. This kind of interference is harmful especially when the channel response is long and/or the number of transmitter antennas is large. We consider the deficiency of aforementioned channel estimation and propose an improved algorithm with interference cancellation, and the relative training sequences are presented as well. It is shown that the new technique can provide better performance and the effectiveness is obvious at high SNR.
