Abstract :
In this work, we present a statistical comparative study of the applications of EP, GA, micro-GA and PSO to two classical antenna problems, namely the gain optimization of Yagi-Uda array and the side-lobe-level reduction of a non-uniform spaced (aperiodic) linear array. The convergences of these algorithms for both best and average fitness trajectories are compared. In addition the performances of GAs, micro-GA with both single and uniform cross-over, and PSO with absorbing, invisible and reflective boundaries are discussed and included in the comparison.
