Abstract
The group delay difference between two guided modes in an optical fibre can be used to realize a fibre-optical interferometer. In this paper the measurement results of a realization with a few-mode optical fibre are presented. Based on the measurements the simulation models could be verified and a special fibre was designed to optimize the performance of the interferometer
