Abstract :
Security is an important issue while networks are becoming ubiquitous. A primary application of security networks is multimedia services, which is challenging bandwidth management capabilities with regard to QoS and its authorized access. To deal with these several issues, this study presents an embedded QoS-aware control gateway (EmQCG) in the vehicle security network which classifies forwarded traffic for optimal use of bounded network bandwidth resources and requires car plate recognition for identification of their occurrences in various working environments. A laboratory EmQCG test bed with functioning adaptive control plate recognition (ACPR) algorithm as well as a BMP with watermarking (BMPW) mechanism is implemented in real-time via class-based queuing bandwidth management in a Cisco 7204 VXR router. Experimental results demonstrate efficiency and accuracy of both the EmQCG and the ACPR.
