Abstract :
This paper represents the extensive field measurement campaign undertaken for the study of digital television (DTV) signal reception in Singapore. Ang Mo Kio district of Singapore was chosen for coverage studies and for planning reference parameters with respect to the field study. The field study involves the measurement of signal parameters in the chosen location sites. Some observations and studies related to the building penetration loss and signal level are extensively discussed. The study recommends the review of ETSI prescribed values for the building penetration loss in a dense urban city like Singapore. The results discussed in the paper are dealt as part of optimizing the extensive network deployment of digital terrestrial television services in Singapore.
