Abstract
This paper proposes an integrated solution for automated surface deformations detection and marking on automotive body panels in the context of quality control in industrial manufacturing. Starting from a 3D image of the surface of the panel, deformations are extracted and classified automatically. The positions of the surface defects are provided to a robotic marking station that handles pose and motion estimation of the part on an assembly line using passive vision. The integrated system is validated with an experimental setup, using an automobile car door panel.
