  • Abstract
A novel quantize-and-forward scheme with two relays is proposed in this paper. In our scheme, each relay only processes one bit of the quantized codeword. The principle of selecting the aforementioned bit is based on the channel condition of the relay links. Compared with the single-relay scheme, the system consumes the same resources, while each relay has a prolonged life since it only transmits one bit of the quantized codeword. On the premise of the reliable transmission of the source message, the relays could also transmit their own information as cognitive relays. The optimal power allocation ratio at the relays is studied in this paper. In addition, the simulation results show that the proposed scheme has better performance.
