Abstract
This study is focused on the characteristic of copper foil for lithium secondary battery application. As a current collector of negative electrode, not only the superior electric character, copper foil must possess high adhesion ability, high elongation, heat and chemical resistance, etc. First, the morphology of double side must be similar, thus the graphite coating amount and adhesive strength between graphite and copper foil of double side could be the identical. Secondary, owing to the tensile stress of manufacture process, the copper foil must have high elongation to prevent cracking. The double side shiny and high elongation character could not exist in the traditional electrodeposited copper foil: Owing to the precise control of electrodepositing parameters such as Cu ion concentration etc., the double shiny side and high elongation copper foils are obtained. This paper shows the performance of this foil on lithium secondary battery application.
