  • Abstract
With current advances in technology, wireless networks are increasing in popularity. These networks allow users the freedom to travel from one location to another without interruption of their computing services. Ad hoc networks, a subset of wireless networks, allow the formation of a wireless network without the need for access point. All participating users in an ad hoc network agree to accept and forward messages, to and from each other. With this flexibility, wireless networks have the ability to form anywhere, at any time, as long as two or more wireless users are willing to communicate. Mobile nodes within an ad hoc network move from one location to another; however, finding ways to model these movements is not obvious. In order to evaluate an ad hoc network performance it is necessary to develop and use mobility models that accurately represent movements of the mobile nodes. In this paper we present performance evaluation of various entity mobility models in terms of the traveling patterns of mobile node.
