Abstract :
This paper pursues non-quadratic stabilization of continuous-time Takagi-Sugeno (TS) models through a local approach first proposed only for stability analysis. This solution overcomes the problem of dealing with time-derivatives of the membership functions (MFs) by reducing global stability goals to something less restrictive that leads to stabilization domains (local asymptotic conditions), which is usually the case for nonlinear models that cannot be globally stabilized. Moreover, the new conditions are expressed as linear matrix inequalities (LMIs) which are efficiently solved by convex optimization techniques. For illustration purposes some examples are developed that clearly point out the advantages of the new framework over already existing approaches.
