Abstract :
This paper analyzes the performance of some fuzzy based capacitor placement methods, identifies their limitations and suggests an improvement scheme. Also, new membership function and solution algorithm for solving the problem has been suggested. The new method developed is less dependent on weighting factors of the membership functions and therefore applicable for solving general capacitor placement problem.
