Abstract :
Multipath error analysis under realistic conditions is often a necessary part of receiver performance assessment. To evaluate the effects of multipath it is necessary to isolate it form other errors. This paper re-visits the use of code-minus-carrier phase measurements for multipath error isolation and describes the steps necessary to get an output that can be easily analyzed during Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) receiver evaluation. A specific multipath delay profile was implemented in a GSS7800 simulator to perform the test procedure steps using realistic signals. Typical multipath error envelopes for a commercial receiver were obtained following these procedures.
