  • Abstract
    This paper presents an highly integrated RF frontend design suited for Galileo E5a / GPS L5 and Galileo E1 / GPS L1 signals. The frontend IC is able to handle bandwidths up to 20MHz and can therefore take fully advantage of the newly defined enhancement of the Galileo signal structure called CBOC. The IC was implemented in a 0.13um CMOS technology and has a die size of 1.7mm × 1.7mm (including bondpads). The current consumption of the receiver (without digital output driver stages) is about 30mA with 1.5V supply voltage. The developed IC can be configured for E1/L1 or E5a/L5. In a dual band GNSS receiver frontend design two of them are used.
