DAB for a new quality of dynamic traffic information

Within the framework of MOBINET, a major intelligent traffic system (ITS) demonstration project in the Greater Munich Area, a prototype system for generating graphical and numerical dynamic traffic information for dissemination via digital audio broadcasting (DAB) was designed, implemented and validated in a five week field trial. Main findings of the survey and field trial as well as a perspective of DAB use in the field of traffic information are outlined in this paper
