Abstract :
In this paper, a software defined radio implementation of TD-SCDMA system based on the common PCs and the open source operating system is described. The performance of this system is evaluated by end-to-end delay, packet loss ratio and CPU usage. We specially focus on the hardware-software coupling and the timing characteristics. The tests on this SDR platform show the feasibility of software-only 3G system and the statistic results can be used to dimension a PC-based base station.
