Abstract :
In this paper, we investigate a cooperative communication system with many different channel estimations, including the Amplifies-and-Forward (AaF), the proposed Estimate-and-Forward (EaF), and the proposed adaptive channel estimations. The proposed adaptive channel estimation shows the optimum performance in such a way that the error probability is closed to the EaF channel estimation, which yields a minimum error probability, but uses less amount of pilot. Meanwhile, the error probability is lower than the AaF channel estimation with a penalty of slightly additional pilot usage. Simulation results also reveal this advantage.
