Abstract
Joint detection of co-channel signals is an effective method to improve the spectral efficiency and the capacity of the wireless systems. A modify MMSE-BDFE algorithm is proposed to jointly detect the GMSK and 8PSK signals which may coexist with the introduction of the enhanced data GSM evolution (EDGE). Conventional MMSE-BDFE algorithm can not be used because of the problem of Choleskey fraction. Oversampling is used to mitigate this question. Simulations are done to show that a good performance/complexity tradeoff can be obtained.
