Abstract :
Detecting the occurrence of fault in active power filter rapidly and accurately is the key to ensure the security and reliability of the system. For the problem of open-circuit fault of switching devices, an open-circuit fault detection method based on model reference is proposed in this paper. Firstly, the mathematical model of the typical active power filter topology is founded. Secondly, the output currents, based on the model reference method, are analyzed and the voltage residual is generated. Finally, a residual evaluation is conducted between the voltage residual and the given threshold, to detect whether the system has a fault. The simulation results verify the effectiveness and correctness of the proposed method.
