Abstract
A video frame extractor applying analog video input signals for omni media monitoring system is given in order to meet the increased requirements for rapid development of radio & television industries. The extractor employs advanced RISC machine (ARM) processor S3C2440 with embedded Linux operating system as host processor, field programmable gate array (FPGA) EP3C25 as coprocessor, increasing the design flexibility and real-time performance. These extracted video images are compressed using a video encoder ADV212, and finally stored in local serial advanced technology attachment (SATA) hard disks. In the verification part, the loop-locked experimental results indicate the validity and applicability of the designed video frame extractor.
