Abstract :
In 1988, Shoshanna Zuboff wrote “In The Age Of The Smart Machine: The Future Of Work And Power”, in which she examined a variety of work methodologies. By examining how various work organizations utilize computers, she reiterated the power and potential of computing tools in the workplace. Since Zuboff´s book was published, a variety of socioeconomic mechanisms continue to inhibit the promise and potential of computer technology and related other emerging technologies in ways that must be understood before we achieve, in Zuboff´s words, a fully “informated” society. This paper attempts to explore and provide tentative solutions to these mechanisms
