  • Abstract
The modular format method of teaching engineering management communications was designed to upgrade the communication skills of engineers in the workplace. This paper explains how the two modules, each of which consisted of four 8-hour days, were designed for maximum effectiveness. The assignments utilized a mixture of in-class assignments and assignments that were to be completed in the evenings. Assignments included both individual and group work. Further, this paper discusses the topics covered during the two 4-day modules; how the modules were taught; who taught them; how the modules were divided into written, oral and visual components; and how the participants´ results were evaluated
