Abstract
We determined the hydration numbers of 2-butoxyethanol (2BE) molecules in monomeric and micellar form using terahertz time-domain attenuated total reflection (THz TD-ATR) spectroscopy. Temperature- and concentration-dependences of hydration number indicate that strongly bound hydrated water molecules make a self-organized structure on the micelle surface.
