An analytic expression for 1-D reflections from boundaries of Yee/Semi-discrete, Yee/ADI, and Yee/CN meshes in free space

Abstract :
This paper investigates the performance of such a hybrid scheme by deriving an analytic expression for 1-D reflection from the boundary of Yee FDTD and SD meshes in free space. We find that expressions of the same form are also applicable to the 1-D Yee/ADI and Yee/CN FDTD meshes in free space. Numerical results reveal that the Yee/SD mesh in free space is with the least reflection.
