Abstract :
This paper discusses one project´s philosophy of integrating the electrical system with a central process control system (CPCS). The paper includes a description of the design parameters and operating experience of partial integration of the two systems for a large petrochemical complex. Future possibilities of further integration and improvements are also discussed. The authors discuss motor protection, economics, distribution system monitoring, load control, electric heat tracing, and the fire alarm system
