Abstract
A fiber optic chemical sensor (FOCS) has been developed for use in conjunction with a chemical polymer membrane whose optical properties change in the presence of hydrogen ions. This instrument was built using lock-in amplifier techniques to measure light intensity reflected from a chemical membrane attached to a bifurcated fiber optic bundle. The device provides an output voltage as a function of pH
