Abstract
We have applied the terahertz wave irradiation to an experimental transplanted prostate cancer model mouse using the gyrotron. We irradiated the 107 or 203 GHz wave (22.56 W/cm2 times 20 min = 27,180 J/cm2), resepectively, against the tumor model BALB-c-nu/nu strain, mail, 12 week old mouse at 43 degree C, which to rising time for 10 min and to keeping the temperature at 43 degree C for 10 min, respectively. The cancer model sizes (axbxcxpi/6 mm3) were measured every day before and after the treatment. In the results, the irradiation anti-tumor effect by the both wave numbers of 203 and 107 GHz for the cancer was found in the case of the transplanted tumor with a cultivated human adenoma cell (PC-3) to decrease more than thousand times comparing the control.
